Sotol Stories & Sonic Vibes:

An Immersive Tasting Event

Where education meets delicious flavours—and music!

In collaboration with SALMON GURU Dubai, one of the city’s hottest spots for cocktails and nightlife, and powered by Casa Lotos Sotol, we hosted an interactive gathering that blended spirits, storytelling, and sound.

Guests were welcomed with an icy slushy watermelon Casa Lotos Sotol margarita—or as we like to call it, the “sotolita.” After that refreshing start, everyone enjoyed a guided 1:1 tasting of Casa Lotos Sotol neat, exploring the spirit’s unique character and learning what sets it apart.

WATERMELON SLUSHY SOTOLITA

Casa Lotos Sotol · Vanilla Honey Water · Lime & Lemon · Fresh Watermelon · Salt

A vibrant, summer-ready twist that showed the softer, fruit-driven side of Sotol while still letting the spirit shine.

The Spirit Behind the Spirit

One of the most intriguing parts of the tasting was seeing people react to the idea that Sotol is not an agave spirit.
Yes—another plant entirely! Sotol is distilled from the Dasylirion plant, native to Northern Mexico, giving it a distinctive herbal, earthy profile that surprises many first-timers.

And of course, the stories always steal the show:
From its presence during the U.S. Prohibition era in the 1920s to its rumoured connections with the Al Capone smuggling routes, Sotol has a rich, rebellious history that adds even more flavour to every sip.

🎶

A Musical Twist

To elevate the night even further, Jimmy jumped into the DJ booth and delivered a special set created just for the occasion.

What many people don’t know: before entering the world of hospitality and cocktail bars, Jimmy’s first love was music. He started out as a DJ, and seeing him behind the decks again brought a unique energy to the event—where education, flavour, and creativity came together perfectly.

A Toast to Heritage, Craft, and Connection

In the end, the evening reminded us that spirits are more than what’s in the glass—they’re history, craft, passion, and connection. Pair that with music and good company, and you create something truly memorable. Here’s to more nights where tradition meets creativity.
